*Ismertem egy embert.  Számtalan rózsaföldje volt.  De ő inkább lemondott
volna mindről, minthogy elveszítse azt az egy elhervadt száraz rózsát,
amit vászonzacskóba varrva a szíve felett hordott. *

keleti ihletésű, vezetett, interaktív előadás négy néző részére

*A szőnyeg zarándoklatra hív a sivatag belsejébe, a fekete asszonyok
különleges rózsakertjébe. Az egyidejűleg négy néző számára megtapasztalható
előadás vizuális és gondolati látomásokon keresztül – képek, szövegek és
érinthető díszletelemek segítségével – vezet el egy keleti szőnyeg
motívumaiból kirajzolódó valóság egyre mélyebb rétegeibe.*

Az előadás halottak napja alkalmából különösen aktuális. A szufi
filozófiában - ami az előadást inspirálta - úgy tartják, hogy aki meghal,
az esküvőt köt az örökkévalósággal. Zarándoklatunk célja pedig éppen az,
hogy eljussunk egy lélek menyegzőjére az örökkévalósággal.

A szőnyeg egyik legfőbb különlegessége a korlátozott a nézőszám, hogy ne
csak nézni, hanem tapintani is lehessen az előadás díszletelemeit, melyek
akár érintésre meg is szólalhatnak. Előadásunkat tehát azoknak ajánljuk,
akik érdeklődnek a keleti misztika iránt, és akik szívesen vesznek részt
egy meditatív sivatagi utazásban egy négy fős társaság szemlélődő
tagjaként. Az utazás óránként indul.

*Living Picture Theatre: The Carpet*
a guided interactive performance for four spectators - inspired by the
oriental culture

*The Carpet calls you for a pilgrimage deep into the desert, into the
particular rose garden of black women. The performance that can be
experienced by four spectators at the same time leads you through visual
and conceptual visions - images, texts and tangible set elements – into
deeper and deeper layers of reality emerging from the motives of an
oriental carpet.*

The performance is especially actual on the Day of the Dead. In the Sufi
philosophy - which has inspired the performance - it is believed that
anyone who dies, enters into a wedding with eternity.  And the aim of our
pilgrimage is to get to the wedding of a soul with eternity.

One of the main features of The Carpet is the limited number of the
spectators in order to make it possible not only to watch but also to touch
the set elements of the performance, which may also speak by touching them.
We recommend our performance for those who are interested in Eastern
mysticism, and who willingly participate in a meditative journey through
the desert as a contemplative member of a four-person company.

égbolt legmagasabb pontján áll. Ő előttem halad kimért és egyenletes
léptekkel, de én lemaradok. A szemembe tűző nap fényében alakja
megsokszorozódik előttem. Rosszullét környékez. Képtelen vagyok egyetlen
további lépést is megtenni. Vezetőm hátrafordul, de arca helyén sikoltó
kőmaszkot látok. - Lépj be a tűz körébe - utasít némán. Halálfélelem tölt
el, mégis belépek a szőnyeg piros színű területére.*

*  We walk through the sand dunes of the desert. The heat is unbearable, as
the sun stands at the highest point in the sky. She proceeds before me with
measured and even steps, but I fall behind. With the light of the scorching
sun in my eyes, her figure multiplies before me. I am on the verge of
swooning. I am incapable of taking another step. My guide turns back, but
in the place of her face, I see a screeching mask of stone. 'Step into the
circle of fire', she commands me silently. I am filled with mortal fear;
yet, I step onto the red area of the carpet.  *
